Bad Romance: A Soliloquy from a Future Famous Play

Context: The main character, Katie Fisher, is forced to leave the city she loves in four days.

Athens. The city of glory. You are my one true love.
Four days from now, I will be taken from you.
How will I survive and how will I breathe?
Before you, I was a lifeless soul, searching for purpose.
Yet, now I live in the freedom and passion you've laid before me.
Without you, I am a kite without wind, a garden without rain.
You have taught my soul to soar, and my mind to ponder.
Then why must I leave you? Don't make me go.

The day is soon approaching when my heart will break.
A fairytale with a tragic ending. A romance turned bad.
Every sunset I will think of you. On each sandy shore and every crashing wave.

No amount of tears will bring you back.
I am doomed for sadness and destined for pain.

Now and forevermore, I will great each daylight and moonbeam
With a prayer to thrive in your arms again.
