This is Sparta

Today we ventured to the town of Mystras and had lunch in Sparta. I'm so excited to say that I've been to the infamous city of Sparta. We had a guest on our trip, Mrs. Finitsis, or as I nicknamed her, Mama Fin. The hike up to the top of the ruins of Mystras was pretty challenging but Mama Fin wasn't going to let that ruin her day or her determination for fresh herbs. She needed minor assistance maneuvering through the rocky terrain in her little black church clogs. We reached the peak and she wasn't even out of breath. Even after the hike, Mama Fin ventured all over the ruins and picked fresh herbs! We all explored all the dangerous ledges and wandered around the grounds. Mama Fin also brought us all a piece of chocolate. Even with the language barrier, we all know she is the sweetest woman ever. After we got gelato for dessert I walked arm and arm with her down the sidewalk. We were following Zachary and she pointed out to me that his beanie was hanging out of his back pocket. So we scuffled towards him, sneakily, and she snagged it. He noticed immediately, turned around and she just looked up to the sky. We all giggled and she gave it back to him, patting him on the shoulder. After that she noticed some snap dragons sprouting out of the stairs in an alley way and plucked the plant right out. She picked one of the flowers and wanted to explain to me that they were called snapdragons. So she pinched the sides of it and made roaring noises. It was cute and I totally knew what she was trying to tell us. Even though we speak totally different languages, Mama Fin conquered the language barrier like a Spartan and never gave up on trying to talk to us.
