This is Sparta

Today we took a day trip to Mystras and on our way back to Athens stopped for lunch in Sparta. I think once everyone heard that we were stopping in Sparta, it made leaving at 7am a little more bearable. Mystras was gorgeous, so many different stones were used for both the walkways and buildings. Once you got to the top you truly felt as if you were on top of the world.
We drove into Sparta and I was surprised to see how modern of a city it seemed to be. There was no fighting, no military, nothing that you would expect after watching a movie including any Spartans. It didn't seem to be much different from Athens. We then enjoyed a peaceful, delicious lunch followed by tasty gelato.
