Psst...I have a secret

Here's a secret. Don't get lost in Greece...

Oh, too late? Did you stay too long at the extreme hoarders, entire-flea-market-worth-of-stuff-in-one-house shop and have your tour group leave you too?

These girls sure did, as did I. Let me tell you, those beautiful smiles quickly vanished once we realized we were stranded in the bad part of Athens. The place our Professor instructed us, "you do not want to be here at night." To make things even more copacetic, we had only about 30-45 minutes of daylight left.

First off, in our defense, how could we NOT be entranced by this shop? It was like a special "International Edition" of Extreme Hoarders.
Yep, I know what you're saying. "Zach, I completely understand, I would've spent way too much time in that store too. There is such a vast array of treasures packed in such a tight space. By the way, that shirt looks great on you."

Thank you, but this story DOES have a wonderful ending, and a much more educational nugget of wisdom. Here it is...

When in Athens, you will find many a narrow alleys and roads with little to no sidewalks. While they are great for sampling the authentic Greek culture, they are that way for a reason...those roads don't lead to where YOU live!

If you get lost in Athens, the best way to find your way back home if you have no clue where you came from is to follow down roads that have WIDE SIDEWALKS.

These are sidewalks that are wider BECAUSE they were meant to house lots of traffic between places. If you choose these streets you will inevitably find yourself walking down the main streets of Athens to places that are meant for the public. This should trigger your memory over the course of your journey and allow you to remember some major landmarks, and follow MORE wide sidewalk streets until you find yourself at either your group or your temporary residential area.

To conclude my story, since I know you are all dying to hear the ending to this epic tale, we found our group at a coffee shop we had walked by 2 nights before tonight.
We did so by walking down wide sidewalk streets.

The group formerly known as "Lost in Athens" at our group's cafe
