Athens at first glace seems like a city full of rich history with historical architecture, but there is hidden secrets that can only be revealed by experiencing Greece. One aspect of Greece that I did not expect was the graffiti that is all over. It seems to be on almost every building.
There are a few parts of Athens that the graffiti is less present but for the most part it seems to be portrayed on most of the buildings and signs. I did not expect graffiti to be such a noticeable and recurring theme in Greece due to the significant and historical architecture, but nonetheless it is highly prevalent. The reason for such extensive in still questionable, whether it be from the current economic situation, not enforced strongly enough, or part of the current Greek culture.
One less significant surprise is that I actually enjoy a coffee drink, which is a rare occurrence for me. The hot chocolate with an espresso shot has become my significant companion on this trip. It provides me with energy, warmth, and is quite tasty. It is also visually appealing as well with a cute flower, which makes it taste all the better.
