1st Enoch 40: 1
"And after that, I saw a hundred thousand times a hundred thousand, ten million times ten million, an innumerable and uncountable (multitude) who stand before the glory of the Lord of Spirits."
Our task today was to take a verse that we have read sometime in class and make it the topic of our blog today. Now I know that this verse is a little confusing and that is how it was written to be. This was written so that it was hard to decipher exactly what they were saying and how many people stood before the Lord. It was an impressive number but in order to keep it mystical Enoch made it some very large somewhat confusing number. This verse goes on to say that then each of the four angels revealed more and more of the hidden knowledge to him and that is how this trip in Greece has been for me.
Many times we go to restaurants in big groups, from 10-15 people and we try to organize tables so that we all fit in the restaurant, get enough menus for everyone, decipher the menu if it's in Greek and sometimes even if it's in English, and then tell the waiters what it is we want. Obviously it is all worth it in the end because no matter what we end up having fun and enjoying some great food but often enough there are mis-communications in the ordering. It can be very difficult and mysterious sometimes to try and understand and speak Greek but we all try our best and are learning more everyday.
This trip has been a whirlwind of adventures and we have done so many things that sometimes it seems like a hundred times a hundred thousand endeavors that we have embarked on. There has been a lot of tid-bits that we have learned along the way about ourselves, our new friends, and this beautiful country that we are all dying to come back to one day.
We are headed to Rhodes tomorrow to begin our next adventure on that island before we eventually head back to Athens before departing for the States at the end of the month.
