I can see Turkey . . . from my window!

So today marks our two week anniversary of being in Greece and what a great two weeks it has been.  Yesterday we had class and then got back together as a group to visit a jewelry store that Professor Finitsis recommended and practically all of the girls on our trip got something there.  They had a wide selection of rings, necklaces, and earrings all for fairly decent prices so that was a fun and different experience.  I ended up getting an antique looking ring and I really like it.
This morning we got to sleep in a bit and then we boarded the bus and traveled to the airport leaving Athens behind us.
Saying goodbye to my apartment room in Athens
The plane was only about 35% full so we got to move around and sit with our friends.  I wrote in my journal on the plane as I have realized that traveling is the only time that I really have to journal and get down some of my thoughts because we are so busy during the day and then always have homework and our blogs to do at nighttime.  We arrived in Rhodes at around 2:30pm and were on the bus around 3 headed to our 5-star hotel on the beach.  It's a beautiful place and currently we're all enjoying the free wifi downstairs in the lounge.  There are fresh flowers in vases on the table, swanky music playing in the background, and a fountain in the lobby.
We got our roommates, received our keys, and got settled in our rooms before heading our to grab a bite to eat since we were flying during our normal lunch time.  I ended up getting a four-cheese pizza which was fabulous and a lot of us either got pizza or souvlaki so that we weren't starving before dinner.  I turned on the TV earlier to find that there are 4 channels in English, about 7 in Greek, 2 in French, 4 in German, 2 in Hebrew, 1 in Turkish, and 1 in Russian.  I enjoyed listening to the other languages and trying to figure out what was going on as I wrote some postcards to people at home and at PLU.

Basically I'm really excited about Rhodes and to start some new adventures here.  Goodbye Athens and hello Rhodes!
