The body is an instrument for our soul, a place of inhabitation until it is commanded by God to move onto the next destination. The body is like the outer shell of the soul, it is what experiences emotion, both pain and pleasure, while the soul is a state of pure bliss.
While in Greece my body has had experiences like never before. It has been replenished through the vast amounts of walking. Not only has it improved my body, but my soul is put at ease through the peaceful serenity that allows for inimitable contemplation. Through this contemplation my mind and reason are able to connect and I am able to truly appreciate God’s creation around me.
I have also challenged my body within the physical realm. While on the island of Symi I did not let my clumsiness shy me away from reaching the ultimate perspective point for the perfect picture of the beauty that the island had to offer. I scaled up the side of a cliff with the wind threatening to blow me away and was rewarded by a picturesque view of the island and its water.
Again my body was challenged by the waters of the Mediterranean. When I thrust myself into in the ocean my body went into a state of shock from the frigid temperature of not only the air but the water. After my heart began to pound at a rapid pace I ran out of the water as if my life depended on it, but I have now swam in the Mediterranean.
My soul is content when it is in a state of bliss, while in Greece my soul has been at its most content. Being surrounded by new friends, beautiful nature, and temples of the gods, my soul cannot help but feel bliss.
