The Greece adventure began at the Sea-Tac airport, arriving at 11:30. After getting checked in, saying bye to the parents, grandma, and sister Montana, and going through security, I was on my own. I boarded the plane after a short wait. My seat for the 10hour flight was a pretty sweet deal. It was in the middle of the plane by the laboratories which gave me a lot of leg room, which was greatly appreciated. I got to watch a movie on my personal screen and I chose "crazy, stupid love" which was quite enjoyable. Regardless of these accommodations it was a very long flight, and not to mention very tiring. We landed in the Amsterdam airport where we waited for our next flight that would take us to Greece! Landing in Greece 4 hours later i was quite exhausted, but there was no time to rest. Once we had got settled in our apartments. My abatement was quite large, it has three bedrooms, so me and my roommates (Markelle and Lance) each have our own room. We also have a kitchen that is quite large, bathroom (wc) is big, but the shower is just like a faucet with the sprayer, which I haven't figured out how to use yet, just one of the many new experiences. Then as a group we went to a market place where we got a few groceries. Our groceries consisted of orange juice, yogurt, bread, and tea, all Greek name brands. We then went to a small lil souvlaki shop which is like Greek fast food. I though it was ok, but my stomach has not adjusted to the Greek diet so everything from water to food upsets it. We then headed back to the apartment to change into walking gear because we were going on the "Death March" as Dr. Finitsis has name it, and it is a name rings true. We took a long tour of the nightlife in Greece which was a giant circle around the Acropolis. Seeing the Acropolis at night was very beautiful since it was illuminated. They also have outside cafes that really come to life at night. The outside cafes are divided into scenes, the romantic scene, the elite scene for politicians, and the college aged scene. After the death march we headed back to the apartments where we crashed into bed from extreme exhaustion.
We headed over to the flea market, which was quite a scene, so many things to see, I don't even think I saw half of them.
After we had been shopping for several hours we went to a café and had lunch. I had spaghetti and chamomile tea.
