Comfort found outside of Home

Today was our free day for our trip to Athens. Since there were demonstrations/strikes today we could not take a ferry to Aegina as we originally planned. So, the only place we could go was Sounion, which is where the Temple of Poseidon is located.

When we arrived to the temple a group of us went to the cliffs near by and ate lunch while taking in the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. The water was a perfect shade of blue, calm and ever so relaxing. We all began to read or write in our journals, all we wanted to do was relax and enjoy the atmosphere of Greece. After lunch we went further down the coast to a sandy beach and I spent the day collecting sea shells and running with my dog companion of the day, "Momma Doggy". Today, is a day that I will never forget.

As time went on I began to reflect on how amazing this trip truly has been. Typically for me I do not open up to people very easily, but the people that i have met here are AMAZING. I have made some friends that i believe could be lifetime friends, I will never forget the moments i was able to cherish with them.

To anyone who is deciding whether or not they should take a J-Term trip, DO IT. Trust me, it is worth every penny and you will never regret the decision you made.

Athens has allowed me to feel comfort in a place that is not my home. ( but maybe it could be someday..) I will cherish these memories and the people I met here forever, and ever.

S'agapo,
Alex
