Choosing Wisdom Over Regret

When choosing to take this trip I confided in my friends when attempting to make my decision on which trip to take. At first I was persuaded in another direction then this trip, but then i realized that going to Greece is where I wanted to go. Today in class we talked about the introduction of the immortality of the soul in the Wisdom of Solomon. In this book they say that your souls is what will allow you to have eternal life and that wisdom is what allows your soul to become immortal.

On the first day of class my professor told us that we should aways take opportunity that shows itself to us otherwise you will come back to the states with regrets and then there is nothing I can do to help you. Personally, that was the one thing that I remember everyday that I have been here and I have not missed a moment yet. Here are some of my favorite days of wisdom without regret:

1. Mt. Lycabettus. One night our class decided to go up to the top of mount Lycabettus. Once we reached the top we got a complete 360 view of all of Athens by night. I was literally taken back by the shear amount of land Athens took over. A lot of us were thinking of not attending do to the recent onset of a cold, but I decided to go and it was worth it completely! That night I made friends with amazing people.

2. Swimming in the Mediterranean and Aegean. I had the crazy idea to go swim in the mediterranean and luckily a group of people came with me. At first the water was freezing, but then as you went all the way under, you skin basically numbed and it was quite refreshing.

3 Taking the ferry to Symi. I was officially nervous to take a ferry ride and I was also very anxious about spending money. But i went anyways and to be honest it has been my favorite part of my trip so far. The island was beautiful and impossible for me to describe, i guess you will have to come see for yourself.

There are many many more moments that i could sit here and describe but the list would go on for ever. I have chosen to follow the path of wisdom so that some day when i die my soul will look down on everyone else experiencing their wisdom.

S'agapo,

Alex
