Bad Romance

I can’t believe it’s already our last weekend in Greece and on Wednesday we’ll be flying back to Parkland. Not a single thing about Greece has been bad; in fact, I think I’m in love with it. I can walk down the street and get souvlaki, I can see ancient ruins from my hotel room, I can eat dessert without feeling guilty because I’m just going to burn it off afterwards walking around town, what’s not to love?

Today we left Rhodes to come back to Athens which I thought was going to be hard, leaving the warm(ish) weather and the sound of waves putting me to sleep at night. But as soon as we got here, it almost felt like being home again. With the sounds and commotion of the city and something always going on, Athens has a very similar vibe to Seattle which is probably why it does feel so homey.

I think the only thing bad about my romance with Greece is that in four short days I’ll be leaving and actually going home to Seattle. No more souvlaki, no more looking out my window to amazing views of the city, and no more eating dessert guilt free.
